A Plea
I’m desperately depressed, Hating myself more than Anything else I know: I have nightmares each And every blackout night, And want to slit my wrist Every God-forsaken Hangover morning. There’s a subtle Romanticism to the Thought of jumping Into the Red River And swimming till My muscles fail. If someone held A gun to my head And asked for All the money I had I’d ask him to...

Me: I'm sorry sir, I couldn't hear the last four digits. Can you repeat those for me?
Customer: 722.
Me: The last four digits, sir.
Customer: 722.
Me: That's only three digits, sir. I need the last four.
Customer: 722.
Me: *Hangs up phone.* Jason, can you delete the Stonebridge order? They're too drunk to order pizza.

Amnesia
She can’t remember The good times; Only the bad Stay with her. She remembers the fights But not who started them, Remembers the yelling But not the kisses that Kept her alive through All of our travels.  The morning that she Drove through the night And collapsed into My waiting arms, And we fell asleep Snuggled together On the couch Because it had been So long since we’d Known...

Identity
Awkward and weird, Damaged by the past, Hopeful for the future, Hopelessly believing in The educated democracy And the light of The harvest moon, I will follow those Silver streams through Whatever fields I find Towards the Utopia, Valley of our peace, For better or worse, Till death himself Stops my footfalls.

How to Remove Your Google Search History Before...
occupyallstreets: On March 1st, Google will implement its new, unified privacy policy, which will affect data Google has collected on you prior to March 1st as well as data it collects on you in the future. Until now, your Google Web History (your Google searches and sites visited) was cordoned off from Google’s other products. This protection was especially important because search data can...

Ambiguity
Last night, a thief snuck through my room Snatching words and thoughts from The books that line my shelves until I couldn’t speak in full sentences And the words that survived Were devoid of meaning or depth. She could have taken any of these Meaningless possessions of mine, But somehow it seems that the Paradigms of such thieves are Far more nefarious than what They would have you...

I Love the "Family"
Me: Holly, you're one of my favorite sisters right now.
Holly: Massie, you're one of my favorite brothers. It's basically just you and Matt. Chance can suck my dick.
Matt: I'm gonna be the best-man at yours and Tiffany's wedding right?
Holly: You, Massie, and Beau.
Tiffany: No! You can't have more best-men than I have bridesmaids.
Holly: Amber, Ashley, Jessica?
Tiffany: Fuck Jessica!
Me: Isn't Jessica your sister?
Nick: Yep.
Tiffany: Shut your mouth, Nick!

We're throwing a party...
…for my “sister” Holly, who just got into the grad program at Texas A&M with a full ride and then some. We invented a new drink for the occasion. It’s called “Your clothes fall off.”  We’ve been playing beer pong with it for the past three hours. Holly just got here. Cheers everyone.

Labyrinth
Perhaps I should have treaded With more caution than I did, But I ended up here anyway, Trapped in this magnificent Maze of my own making, Searching for an exit That I know is not there, Driven only by the impulse To escape from this prison So that I may lift my Fellow man out of the mud As I rise above the walls That have confined us all For so many generations.

I was planning on being productive tonight: I’ve got a novel that needs editing, a collection of poetry that needs filling out, and a sink full of dishes that needs washing. Instead, I stole a table and lit myself on fire. We made jungle juice with Nyquil, watched Star Wars, and painted our “pledge’s” toenails blue. Kids, don’t be like me when you grow up.

Allen Ginsberg saw the best minds Of his generation strung out In the gutter of Los Angeles, While I have seen the best minds Of mine stuck behind desks in Libraries in Middletown, chained To the desks of their universities, Yoked by force to the altars Of their religion like dogs Tied to a stick driven into The frozen earth of their yards, And the booze and smoke they Pull into their bodies like...

Last night I walked alone from the gay district of Bourbon Street to where it lets out at Canal Street. I got a shot of bourbon, a couple kamikaze shots, a couple shots of Jager, a shot of whiskey, a shot of vodka, a daiquiri, and a hand-grenade. I saw boobs, pussy, and ass. I met a beautiful girl named Sophia who I’ll probably never see again. Then I drove, watching the sky grow lighter...

Another World
We want to escape, All of us, to a world Of our own design, Without the pitfalls Of modern society And the chains of Capitalism around us, And what of that world That we leave behind, Filled with others who Face the same struggles And hidden dangers with Every breath they take? Should we just let them Find their own world? We can build a world For all of us, where Nobody can be judged By who...

I think we’re going to die While Ghost roars like a dragon And flies down the mountain With all the force of a boulder While my body’s shaking, Coming down off of something Harder than I’ve ever known Like a dynamite migraine And there’s the sound barrier Passing behind us in dragnet Equal and opposite parachute, Six people overcoming nature While streetlight stalactites...

Chance: It'd be pretty cool to have sex with a vampire I guess.
Me: I dated a vampire chick once.
Ashley: What?! That's the most disturbing thing I've ever heard.
Chance: Was she a real vampire?
Me: Chance, I don't know how to break it to you, but vampires aren't real.
Chance: What? Since when?
Me: If you're getting this stressed out now, wait till you hear about Santa Clause.
Chance: No! I'm out! Santa Clause is real damnit. *Storms out of living room*
Jessica: He did the same thing when I tried to tell him about the tooth fairy.

Arthur stood at the gate and looked east, and watched the car hug the road as it came around the curve and coasted to a stop at the edge of the yard. He could see all three passengers: the woman who had captured the lord, the man who had captured him, and the traitor delivering them to their final resting place. Then he looked south and saw the young college student cross the property line and...

Derealization
When I dream that you’re here Instead of in the ground where She put you,                     I never ask Why you’re back, or if you Are really standing by me. But all the time, these days, While I’m at work, or out, Or sitting here                      I wonder If the things I see now Are actually a nightmare.

Paper Sheets
My fingers found her scars As I shed her shirt, Pushing her up against The bookshelves And memorizing The shape of her Open mouth Against mine. Labyrinths rose From the cloth Across her breasts, While the valleys Of her thighs Spread before me. I felt her fingers Tracing my own scars As her legs Invited me in And held me, Not entirely Against my will. Books fell like rain Around us as Each...

They Say He Took Her Tongue
The man she called Father was a control freak. He liked the house a certain way, and if something was out of place, it was probably going to come down on her. He had secret rules for everything: the dishwasher had to be loaded with the smallest items in front most of the time, but sometimes he wanted them arranged by color; the remote had to be left on the table at all times, except at certain...

Missing
We were gone when the others woke (I don’t remember quite where) So they searched the house Pulling out drawers and cabinets And tearing up the floorboards Until toothpick splinters shook Their mighty forks at the ceiling While they took to the streets, And when the morning sunlight Poured like a flood down the stairs, She looked at me and asked If I wanted to go back home, But by then there...
