Ignorance
How smug some people are
With their own willful ignorance
Sickens and terrifies me -
To laugh in the face of facts
And say that the love of two
Expressed through matrimony
Strips you of your majority rights
Shows you for what you are.
Let it be self evident
That all people were
Created in equal esteem,
But the world is a mess
And we’re not all born
On that same level -
We weren’t put here
To make money
Or be baby factories,
We were put here to do good,
And better this world,
And where you come from
Or who you love
Doesn’t matter,
As long as you do good.
Sexuality is not a choice,
Abortion is not a sin,
And if you think
Contraceptives
Make women into whores,
You’re probably not
A very good Christian.
